Reigniting the Fire with Intentionality

How do you reignite the passion in your marriage?

With all that Wildland Man and I’ve been through lately, I can sometimes feel like the passionate love that brought us together is a bit lacking. Now, don’t get me wrong, my love hasn’t faded, in fact I’d say it’s definitely grown deeper over the years.

And in the trial of infertility we currently find ourselves in, I’ve honestly never felt closer to the man I married. I feel deeply and intimately connected to him.

But…

Attempting to make a baby is exhausting. When everything is timed and on a schedule, the passion kinda goes out the window.

Add in the anxiety and overwhelm that accompanies all the changes and information overload, and yeah, I’d say Wildland Man and I are due for a reboot.

I really feel that it is important to keep the flame burning bright in marriage. But I think it is even more important to be intentional about doing so during the tough times.

It’s so easy to fall into survival mode, thinking of only yourself while trying to make it through the trial ahead of you.

By choosing to make the effort, to reignite the fire in your marriage with intentionality, you get your mind off of yourself and onto your spouse. Which can be incredibly uplifting when you are stuck in a downward spiral of negativity and doubt. You get to take a moment to step out of your funk and make some positive strides in your marriage.

Plus, you get the added benefit of a stronger marriage out of the deal.

Country Wife Chronicles’ second annual Wife on Fire Challenge is just around the corner. To prepare our hearts and minds for this next journey we are about to embark on, we’ve been talking marriage quite a bit here on CWC.

For all of my fellow Wildland Fire Wives, we rounded up all the goods with the “‘Tis Fire Season” blog post earlier this month.

Last week, we recapped CWC’sStrengthening Your Marriage” series.

Today, we talk intentional marriage
