This comment is so special to me, Laura. And I’m so happy this little tiny challenge has opened up your heart to making more of an effort in your marriage. I am in no way saying that marriage should be a one-way street, it definitely takes two to make the effort and speak each other’s love languages. But I am saying that reigniting that spark can start with just one person, just one effort. Your comment absolutely exemplifies that. I LOVE that you tried the Wife on Fire Challenge. The second week was still going well and we did share a 2 day getaway with nice meals and time alone. The third week, life got in the way and things weren’t as smooth. However, I did make a cake that he really likes! He was edgy, not talking much and then he saw the cake on the counter. He asked, “Where are you going?” I said no where and then he asked who the cake was for. I told him it was for him and it was my challenge this week. He said “I really like her!” He really ate a lot of the cake!
Soooo, I have learned, so far, that even though I feel sometimes that its all him, its a lot me! I need to communicate better, keep giving, and taking care of “us”!
